Fold at lace rnd, pick up first st from CO edge and k together with live st, repeat this to end. You still have 80 / 90 sts. Tip: Use the long tail cast on, because you need to pick up the edge stitches at beginning of the cast-on row. See the video on knittinghelp.com. I prefer to knit hats with 2 long circular needles. Other methods are to work with dpns or with one long circular needle and the magic loop. \*p 5 rnds, k 5 rnds ,rep from \* 2 more times p 4 rnds dec rnd 1: piece measures about 14 - 16 cm (5,5 - 6,5")from CO: \*p2tog, rep from \* to end (= 40 / 45 sts) K 5 rnds P 4 rnds dec rnd 2: piece measures about 17 - 19 cm (6,8 - 7,5")from CO: \*p2tog, rep from \* to end (= 20 / 23 sts) Cut yarn, leaving a 10" tail. Thread tail 2 times through rem sts, pull tight to gather, and fasten off on Ws.Weave in ends.
