Rocky Mountain Columbine Materials: Caron Simply Soft yarn in three contrasting colors, square worked in White (CA), Iris (CB), Lilac (CC), and yellow (CD-for embellishing the center) colors, exact names unknown Hook size H/8 5.00mm Tapestry needle for weaving in ends and French knots

Special stitches: Cross stitch (cross st): (worked over 2 st) sk 1 st, dc in next st, dc in sk st picot: ch 2, sl st in 1" ch FLO: front loop only BLO: back loop only Pattern notes: If you find that the purple petals need tacking down this would be done on rnd 8 by grabbing a vertical bar on the center treble stitch. With CA (white), form a magic loop Rnd 1: Ch 1, 10 sc in loop, sl st to first sc. (10 sc) Rnd 2: \*FLO, ch 3, sk next st, sl st in next st\* repeat from \* to \*4 more times, sl st in same st as beg ch-3. (5 ch-3 loops) Rnd 3: \*(Sl st, ch 1, 2 hdc, ch 1, sl st) in next ch-3 sp,\* repeat from \* to \* in each of the ch-3 sps, sl st to first sl st, fasten off CA. (10 hdc, 10 sl sts, 10 ch-1 sps=5 petals) Rnd 4: Working behind petals with RS facing you, attach CB (purple) to any skipped sc from rnd 2 with a sl st in FLO, \*ch 5, sl st in FLO of next skipped sc from rnd 2,\* repeat from \* to \* around, sl st to first sl st.
