This rib cap was inspired by Rocky movies.The main character has ablack cap on whenrunning.I too needed to knit a cap,thin but warming and suitable for sensitive skin. This cap has a widefolding edge, which youcan set as you like. The simle crown decreasesformacrosonone side. Right nd wrong side are diferent andbothcanbe used as theoutside hiscap is reversible and foldable, just the way you like to! Size: One size fits from child to adult. Diameter unstretched about 40 cm, stretches to well over 7ocm. Yarn: Sandnes Lanett (100 $\%$ merino, $50\ \mathrm{g}\ /\ 195\ \mathrm{m})$ 100 g in graphite gray for finer cap La Alpaca ( $100\%$ alpaca, 50 g, $\mathrm{Nm}\,3/8$ 100 $\mathbf{g}$ in orange for thicker cap Needles: 2 mm for finer cap $2{,}5\;\mathrm{mm}$ for thickercap Tension: 31 sts and 42 rows to 10 cm square in stockinette stitch for finer cap 26 sts and 35 rows to 10 cm square in slightly stretched k 3, p 2 rib for thicker cap Samples are knit in magic loop with one 8o cm long circular needl. There are instructionsfor two yarn qualities, afiner and a thicker one Frst figure is forfer ya, and later isfor thicker yn Ifthere's only one fjure inthe instructions, t aples for both sizes. It's important that you knit decreases in same way and at same places allthe time for the decrease pattern toform correctly. The center stitch of decreasing stays at same place all the time. You can use st markers to help.
Cast on 172 - 160 sts. Knit in round in k 3, p 2 rib for 22 cm. Start decreasing: K40 - 37, sl 2 knitwise together, k1, pa slipped sts over Repeat from beginning three times. Next row: Continue in pattern, knit sts at decreases as they come. Decrease everytherwutil theres 6abut 6 ts betwentwdereae pointsThndreaeoneveryrwtillyouhae to 8 sts left. K 1, pass all sts over, pull the yarn doubled and cut it so that you can sew it in. Sew in ends carefully and make them unnoticeable. Block and dry. Fold the edge as you please and wear the cap with either side out.
