This small mobile cozy can be varied endlessly in size and look. Use any yarn and adjust the number of repeats according to your gauge and wanted size. Could also be used as a small gift bag? This pattern is inspired by the Kiri shawl by Polly Outhwaite (available from her website www.alltangledup.com). The leafy Fern motif is according to her a classic Shetland motif.

knit k2tog yo ssk sk2p (slip 1 as to knit, k2tog, psso) To fit my mobile (big, bulky HTC TyTN II) I knit $3\times2.5$ repeats of the Fern motif. Cast on 36 sts (or any multiplication of 12 that will give the size wanted) and knit 2 ridges of garter in the round. Knit 2.5 repeats of the Fern motif (or as many you kneed to get wanted size). Knit 2 rows of stockinette, 1 row to make holes (k2, yo, ssk, k4, yo, ssk, k2), two rows of stockinette, two ridges of garter and then cast of.

Sow bottom together and fasten all ends. Tread silk band through the holes, I used two circular bands.
