Customizable Bike Bag for Handlebars or Rack
This bag can be adjusted to fit your bike by crocheting the flap long enough to fit around the thickness of
wherever the bag will be hung from. Making two flaps allows the bag to be hung around places that have a middle bar.
Pattern
Hook: G Yarn: #18 artiste nylon Size: 6" x 3" (15 cm x 7.5 cm) Body of bag ch31 Row 1: sc in backloop of 2nd ch, 2 sc in last ch, sc in front loop to end, 2 sc in last ch, join to first sc (62 sc) Row 2: ch 1, sc around, join to first sc Row 3-16: Repeat row 2 14 times or until desired height. Do not finish off.
Flap of bag
Right flap is continued from body of bag Row 1: ch 1, sc in next 14 sc, turn (14 sc) Row 2: ch 1, sc to end, turn Row 3-16: Repeat row 2 Row 17: ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, ch 4, skip 4 sc, sc to end, turn (10 sc, button hole was made) Row 18: ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, 4 sc in ch, sc to end, turn (14 sc) Row 19-20: ch 1, sc to end, turn Finish off. For the second flap skip 5 sc along the back edge of the bag and attach nylon. Row 1: ch 1, sc in next 14 sc, turn (14 sc) Row 2: ch 1, sc to end, turn Row 3-16: Repeat row 2 Row 17: ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, ch 4, skip 4 sc, sc to end, turn (10 sc, button hole was made) Row 18: ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, 4 sc in ch, sc to end, turn (14 sc) Row 19-20: ch 1, sc to end, turn Finish off. Finishing: Sew buttons in a place with enough leeway to attach to a place on the bike.
This small purse can fit a cell phone, money, and keys.
Instructions to Adjust the Pattern to Customize the Fit
The size of the purse can be adjusted by starting out with fewer or more chains. Depending on what the bag will be attached to, the flap can be done as one flap or two flaps. Be aware that the flap needs to be long so that it can fit around bars.
