PaHtern Notes
· This pattern has two instructions-one for working in the round and one for working flat. Mainly, because when I first wrote this pattern I detested working in the round. Then I decided I wanted to practice the magic loop by making them over again, but in the round. My daughter designed these, meaning she told me what she wanted and I made them. This means they have no thumbs. She wanted them to be just like the shirts that have a thumb hole at the bottom. Finished mitt is about 7.5" in circumference. This fits my small/medium hand with a small amount of positive ease. You may use a larger needle to obtain a looser gauge if you would like to have more room. Why the name? The way the cables intertwine they remind me of the old school litle finger game we used to play, "Here's the church here's the steeple, open the doors and here's all the people." Only my dad would do the other one: "Here's the church, here's the steeple, open the door, where's all the people? Across the street and to the bar. open the doors and there they are!"
