CUFF (both alike)
Using 4.5mm (us 7) needles and yarn A cast on 102 sts. Cuff is worked in st st throughout; beg with a k row. Next row Working as set on row l of chart A for version one or chart B for version two; and using the fair-isle technique work right edge st; rep l0 st patt rep l0 timesr work left edge st. This row sets chart placement. Cont as set on chart until all 48 rows have been completed; ending with WS facing for next row. Cont in yarn C only. Next row K2tog, \*pi, Kl rep from to end. 10l sts. Next row Pl, \*Kl, Kl rep from to end. Cast off in patt.
MAKING UP
Block cuff then join back seam. Join back seam of foot section. Sew cuff to foot section. With cast off edge of sole at heel of foot and wS of foot facing RS of soler join foot and sole using mattress stitch. Wash inside out on their own at 40°c. Please note- washing machines vary So it is important to felt a test swatch to check the shrinkage before felting your slippers. Do not use a delicate Cycle.
Re-shape whilst damp.
Washing at 40°c will create a thick felt and slippers will need to be shaped to size straight after washing' whilst damp. The foot section can be shaped to size by wearing the slippers whilst damp with plastic bags inside to keep feet dry. Alternatively stuff with tissue paper to required size and leave to dry. To shape cuff insert a tube of stiff card (approx. 33cm circumference) into slipper cuff and leave to dry.
