Cuff: Join into a circle, being careful not to twist. Knit fifteen rounds in the Twisted Rib Pattern. Leg: Knit one round in stockinette. Knit the eight rounds of the Cable and Lace Pattern a total of 10 times. Your piece should measure about $8^{\prime\prime}$ from the cast on edge. Short Row Heel: Knit across 19 stitches on needle 1. Transfer 3 remaining stitches from needle 1 to needle 2. Turn work and purl back the 19 stitches, plus an additional 13 stitches from needle 3. Transfer 7 remaining stitches from needle 3 to needle 2. You should have 32 stitches on needle one and 34 stitches on needle 2. Knit 31 stitches, then move the working yarn as if to purl. Slip remaining stitch from the left needle to the right and turn your work. Slip the first, unworked stitch from the left needle to the right needle. Purl the next stitch (wrapping the yarn around the first, unworked stitch), then purl across to the last stitch. Move the working yarn as if to knit and slip the last stitch. Turn your work.

Row 1: Slip the first stitch and knit across to the last stitch before the unworked stitch, wrap and turn. Row 2: Slip the first stitch and purl across to the stitch before the unworked stitch, wrap and turn. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until 9heel stitches on each side are wrapped and turned. There willbe 14 live stitches in the middle of your needle and you will be ready to work a right side row. Row 1: Knit across the 14 live stitches to the first unworked, wrapped stitch. Pick up that stitch and the wrap and knit the stitch and the wrapped yarn together as one stitch. Wrap the next stitch. Row 2: Slip the first unworked stitch (which now has two wraps) and purl across to the first unworked stitch. Pick up the wrap and purlit together with the stitch. Wrap the next stitch and turn your work. Continue in this manner picking up both wraps and working them together with the stitchuntil all the stitches have been worked and you have 32 live stitches. To prevent holes in the corner of your heel, you may need to pick up a stitch in the corner when you rejoin the heel with the instep of the sock. If that is the case, simply decrease on your next round until you have correct number of total stitches again (16 stitches on needles 1 and 3). Foot: Knit the stitches on needle 1 in stockinette, reducing stitches if necessary down to 16. $\copyright$ 2009 - Dye-namics Yarn! On needle 2, k2tog, P1, then knit across the next 28 stitches in the established Cable and Lace Pattern until you get to the last three stitches on needle 2, P1, ssk. 32 stitches remain on needle 3 Knit the stitches on needle 3 in stockinette, reducing stitches if necessary down to 16. 64 stitches total stitches should remain. Knit even until your sock measures $2\ ^{1/2}\mathrm{{}^{\prime\prime}}$ less than your desired sock length, continuing Cable and Lace Pattern with K1, P1 at the start of the needle and ending P1, K1, with the middle 28 stitches as established on needle 2. Needles 1 and 3 should be knit in stockinette. End pattern on an even round. Knit one round in stockinette on all needles before starting the toe reductions.
