These mittens are intended to fit with zero or negative ease so that they will fit inside of larger mittens or under a pair of fingerless mitts.

Left Mitten
CO 36 sts and divide evenly over 3 dpn. Work 6 rnds K1 tbl, pl tbl ribbing. Change to St st and work even until piece measures 6" or desired length for cuff. Shape thumb guovet: Work to last 2 sts on the 3"d needle, Mlr, kl, Mll, k1. Work 2 rnds even. Next rnd: Work to last 4 sts on the 3"d needle, Mlr, k3, Mll, kl. Work 2 rnds even. Next rnd: Work to last 6 sts on the 3rd needle, Mlr, k5, Mll, k1. Work 2 rnds even. Next rnd: Work to last 8 sts on the 3rd needle, Mlr, k7, Mll, k1. Work 2 rnds even. Thumbs
Return 11 held thumb sts to dpn. Rejoin yarn leaving a tail at leaot 6' long, pick up and knit 1 st at the CO on palm- 12 sts on the needles, arrange sts evenly over 3 dpn and work even in St st for 2". Shape top: K2 tog across all sts- 6 sts rem. Next row: K2 tog across all sts- 3 sts rem. Cut yarn leaving a tail at leaot 6" long and thread onto a tapestry needle. Thread the tail through rem sts and draw closed. Weave in ends on WS. Using tail from beginning of thumb, cinch closed any gaps that may be at the base of the thumb. Repeat for second mitten. Block as desired.
