Pattern Notes
You need to know the following crochet stitches: ch, sl st, dc, tr, and d tr. Pentagon diameter: 11cm/4_inches Pentagon side: 8cm/3_inches Size is customizable. Many sock yarns are too beautiful just to be hidden in your shoes. In this pattern,a wonderful sock yarn is turned into cute wristwarmers. One crocheted flower pentagons is folded and joined to form a wristwarmer. I've also made a cowl using these pentagons, which I called“Amiga". This means “friend” in Spanish. And “amiguitas" is the corresponding diminutive, that is smal friends.

Pentagon 1:
Ch 5, join to a circle with 1 sl st. Round 1: 2 ch, 9 dc in circle, 1 sl st in $2^{\mathsf{n d}}$ ch. Round 2:3 ch, 2 tr in same st ( $\stackrel{\cdot}{=}$ bottom of first petal) 1 ch, skip 1 dc, [3 tr in next dc, 1 ch, skip 1 dc] 4 times, 1 Sl st in 3rd ch Round 3: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, 1 tr in 2nd tr, 2 tr in 3rd tr, 3 ch, [in next 3 tr: 2, 1, 2 trs, 3 ch] 4 times, 1 sl st in 3rd ch. Round 4: 4 ch ( $\stackrel{.}{=}$ first d tr of d tr cl), d tr in next 4 trs, but don't draw yarn through the two last loops of each d tr. Then draw yarn through all 5 loops. 5 ch, 1 tr in 3 ch sp, ch 1, 1 tr in 3 ch sp, 5 ch. [1 d tr cl in next 5 trs, 5 ch, 1 tr in 3 ch sp, ch 1, 1 tr in 3 ch sp, 5 ch] 4 times. 1 sl st in top of first d tr cl. Round 5: 1 sl st in first of 5 chs. 3 ch, 2 tr in beginning of 5 ch sp, 2 ch, 2 tr in end of 5 ch sp, 1 tr in next tr, 2 ch, 1 tr in next tr, 2 tr in beginning of 5 ch sp, 2 ch, 2 tr in end of 5 ch sp, 1 tr in top of 5 d tr cl, 3 ch, [1 tr in first of 5 chs, 2 tr in beginning of 5 ch sp, 2 ch, 2 tr in end of 5 ch sp, 1 tr in next tr, 2 ch, 1 tr in next tr, 2 tr in beginning of 5 ch sp, 2 ch, 2 tr in end of 5 ch sp, 1 tr in top of 5 d tr cl, 3 ch] 4 times, 1 sl st in 3rd 0 first 3 chs Round 6: 3 ch, 2 tr in 3 ch sp (corner), 3 ch, 3 tr in same 3 ch sp, $^\star2$ ch, [3 tr in next 2 ch sp, 2 ch] 3 times, 2 ch, (3 tr, 3 ch, 3 tr)\* in corner sp \*, repeat from \* to $^\star\,_{3}$ times, 2 ch, [3 tr in next 2 ch sp, 2 ch] 3 times, 2 ch, 1 sl st in 3rd ch. Turn work. Round 7: In each 2 ch loop you make 3 tr, 2 ch, and in each corner 3 tr, 3 ch, 3 tr, 2 ch. Then you'll make one or two rounds of tr, depending on the size of your wrist and your tension. After this, the pentagon should fit around your wrist, folded like this.

You make 1 tr in each tr and in each 2 ch loop. In the corners you make 1 tr 3 ch 1 tr, if you're working two rounds. If one round is enough, you make 2 tr, 3 ch, 2 tr in the corners, so that you end up with 27 tr in each side. Cut yarn. Start in one of the corners, 1 dc, \*1 shell (1 shell $=5$ tr in same st) in 2nd tr, skip 2 st, 1 dc in next st, skip 2 sts \* repeat from \* to $^\star4$ more times ( $\stackrel{.}{=}$ five shells), 1 dc in corner loop.

Now you will join two of the pentagon sides: 1 dc in next dc. 11 ch, 1 dc in each of the first 2 sts on the opposite side. 10 ch, 1 dc in each oft the next two sts on the starting side. 9 dc, 1 dc in each oft the next two sts on the opposite side. Continue like this, reducing the number of ch by one each time. When you reach 1 ch, you continue with 1 ch, 2 dc in each side till you reach the end of the joining sides. (In theory, you should end on the left side of the joining. But if not, don't worry, just slip stitch your way to the left side.)

You'll now make shells around the two last pentagon sides: 1 dc in first tr of last tr round. \*Skip 2 sts, 1 shell in next tr, skip 2 st, 1 dc in next st \* repeat from \* to $^\star\,_{3}$ times, skip 2 sts, 1 shell in corner loop, repeat from \* to \* 4 times $(=9$ shells). 1 shell in 1 ch loop of joining line, sl st in first dc. Cut yarn. Make one more! Weave in ends. Block if needed. Two small friends to warm your wrists!
