Princess Bubblegum — character of the popular cartoon “Adventure Time", that was created by Pendleton Ward for Cartoon Network. This toy was crocheted with “lris" yarn (150m/25g) and"Ariadna KAJA" yarn (200m/30g). Both are 100% cotton. To create a toy with a height of 16.5 cm you must crochet with single yarn using a 1.o0 mm hook. All details except the diadem are crocheted with "lris" yarn. The diadem is crocheted with “Ariadna KAJA" yarn. The hair is made of pink carded merino wool combed sliver with a 18 mic thickness. The stuffing material used in this toy is polyester wadding. This pattern is for personal use only. Sharing information from this pattern is prohibited. Pin marker to the last loop of the row. Every new row must be finished with a loop at the marker.

Tip 1

The toy must be crocheted with tight stitches, to be sure that there won't be any holes throughwhich stuffing material can be seen. All amigurumi toys are crocheted with tight stitches. Avoid small holes when stretching crochet fabric, if there are some tiny holes, use a smaller size hook. To avoid seams, all details are crocheted in a spiral without slip stitch and lifting loops. There is a chance that you will lose the beginning of the row; to avoid this, use a marker. It can be a colored pin or thread of contrasting color.

11. Hair

In order to locate the areas where the hair must be attached, you will have to use pins. First, mark the center of the face pin marked in red (lmage 60). Then, mark the places where hair should not be: the face and the forehead (on lmage 61, the red pins mark the face area, while the grey pins mark the forehead area, which will be covered by the fringe. Please note that the grey pins are placed in a slightly curved line, like a natural hairline, as can be seen on Image 62). Finally, mark the area where the long hair will be attached (circle of red pins shown at various angles on Images 62 to 65). The little area between the hair area and the natural hairline is where you will attach the fringe hair (area marked in red on Image 66).

11.1 Hair

Princess Bubblegum has long hair. The piece of wool should be twice as long as her hair. (lmage 67) Take a piece of wool and split it into thin strands. (Image 68) Insert the hook into one of the stitches marked with a pin, where the hair should be situated. (on Image 69, the hook is inserted in the hair area just behind the fringe area). Take a strand. (lmage 70) Guide the strand through the stitch. (lmage 71) Guide the ends of the strand into the loop and tighten. (lmage 72) The first strand of hair is ready. (lmage 73)

11.2 Hair

Insert the hook into the next stitch and do the same with a second strand. Continue until all the hair area is filled. (lmages 74, 75 and 76) Connect short strands in the same way to the fringe area (between hair area and forehead, as was shown on Image 66). This will be the fringe. (lmage 77) Pull the strands downward row by row, starting from the bottom of the head, and comb the hair. In this way you will comb out all unnecessary hair and give it the needed shape. (lmage 78) Cut the fringe and hair a little. (lmage 79) The final haircut will be done after the head is sewn.
