Purse: 12" wide x 10" tall
MATERIALS
Brown Sheep Burly Spun, 100% wool (8 oz/132 yards), 1 skein #BS120 Limeade US Size 11 (8mm) 14" single point needles Cable needle, tapestry needle, stitch markers (2) Purse lining: Fat quarter quilting fabric in a coordinating color (18" x 24"), 16" zipper and purse handles. Sewing machine or needles and matching thread. (Optional: Lining fabric may be fused instead of sewn by using a fusible adhesive such as "Heat 'n Bond Lite.")

8 sts = 4" in Seed stitch
DESIGNER NOTES

The purse is knit as a single rectangle, then folded to form front and back of the purse. The lining is then cut as a single rectangle, and folded in the same manner. A zipper is attached to the “top" edges of the lining. The lining is inserted into the knit purse and attached. The handles are attached last.
STITCH GLOSSARY
Seed Stitch (any even number of stitches) Row 1: \*K1, p1; repeat from \* to end. Row 2: \*P1, k1; repeat from \* to end. Cable Panel (over 10 sts) Row 1 & 5: P2, k6, p2. Row 2, 4, 6: K2, p6, k2. Row 3: P2, place next 3 sts onto CN and hold in front of work, knit next 3 sts, k3 sts from CN, p2. ABBREVIATIONS CN: Cable needle K: Knit P: Purl St(s): Stitch(es)

INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 30 sts. Work 10 sts in Seed stitch, place marker, work 10 sts in Cable Panel, place marker, work remaining 10 sts in Seed stitch. Continue in pattern until piece measures approximately 20" from cast on edge -- ending after row 4 of Cable Panel. Bind off in pattern.
FINISHING
Cut lining fabric 24" long x 14" wide. Fold and press short ends back 2". Butt the two, newly folded ends together and place zipper so the zipper pull is just “outside" the 1” side seams. Sew by hand or machine. Open zipper and turn the lining wrong side out and sew 1" side seams. With tapestry needle and matching yarn, sew the side seams of the knit purse. Place lining (still wrong side out) into knit purse. With sewing needle and matching thread, stitch lining to purse along open end of purse. Attach handles to top edge of purse in a manner appropriate for the selected purse handles.
