Materials
60 g in total of Ullcentrum's 2-ply sport weight wool yarn, here in 3 colours Double pointed needles size 2.5 mm, 13 cm/US 1.5

Pattern
Cast on 48 (52) sts Work a k1, p1 ribbing for 15 rounds (rnds) or 5 cm Continue in garter stitch Change colours and work 2 rnds - ea coloured stipe = 2 rnds Continue until there are 15 stripes = 30 rnds from the rib = approx. 12 cm Thumbhole Right hand: On needle 3, work the 10 (11) middle sts in a differently coloured yarn, put them back on the left needle and work them as usual Left hand: Work as for right hand but on needle 2 Work 24 stripes = 48 rnds approx. = 10 cm or to required length from the thumbhole At the same time, decrease 1 st per needle every second rnd x 5 (6) times from the outside Decrease 2 sts per needle every second rnd twice On the last rnd work \*k1, k2tog\* until end of rnd Break yarn, pull it through the remaining sts and fasten Pick up the sts from the differenly coloured yarn + 1 extra st at the side and divide equally on 3 needles = 22 (23) sts in total Work 7 stripes = 14 rnds in garter st Decrease 1 st every 3rd rnd After 15 (18) stripes = 30 (36) rnds or approx. 5,5 cm, k2tog until 6 sts remain Break yarn, pull it through the remaining sts and fasten Close any hole by the thumb with a couple of stiches Put the mittens in hot water and felt them a bit by hand until they have the required size and shape
