SYNCOPATION ADORATION
bySTEPHENWEST Gather a colorful selection of DK weight yarns for this twocolor brioche hat. Begin at the bottom with brioche ribbing in the round. When you're ready for something new the ribbed columns syncopate so the knits are purled and the purls are knit. Swap colors freely for a super striped effect and don't forget to top it off with a pom pom! SIZES One Size

PATTERN NOTES
In two-color brioche stitch, two rows are worked for each counted round that appears on the face of the fabric. The first color is worked around once and then the round is worked again using the second color. The next round is worked the same way, once around with the first color and worked again with the second color. When counting rounds, count only the stitches going up on the knit column. For example, when you work 4 rounds, count 4 knit column stitches, even though you will have worked 4 rounds, 2 with each color. 2 worked rounds=1countedround. When you put down your knitting and forget which color you just used and which color to use next, look at the color of the yo in the row just worked. That is the lastcoloryou used. This scarf is written using a dark color (DC) and light color (LC) in the instructions, but as you repeat the rows and add colors, feel free to ignore always having a DC featured on one side and LC on the other.
PATTERN NOTES CONTINUED
I highly recommend Nancy Marchant's classes and books on brioche knitting. Her online Craftsy class, Explorations in Brioche Knitting, offers excellent information on the intriguing brioche technique.
