The hand part is then knit in the same simple stitchpattern you made the scallopswith. Yarn: 115 to 192 meters /126 to 210 yards of sock yarn.
Needle: These fingerless mitts are knit in the round on 2.5 cm (US 1.5) DPNs. Gauge: 25 sts / 40 rows to 10 cm /4" in stocking stitch. Size: Ladies S (M/L) Finished circumference 18.5 (21) cm /7.5 (8.5)". Cast on 48 (56) sts, using the knit cast on, join to knit in the round. Purl 1 round, then knit 3 rounds. Next round: \* K1, yo, K2, P3tog, K2, yo, repeat from \*. Knit 1 round. Knit K1tbl, P1 rib for 6 cms /2.5". Hand: Set-up rounds Rnd 1: PM, M1L, K1, M1R, PM, K to end of round. Rnd 2: Knit Thumb gusset: Rnd 1: SM, M1L, K to marker, M1R, SM, K. Rnd 2: SM, K to marker, SM, yo, K2, P3tog, K2, yo, \* K1, yo, K2, P3tog, K2, yo, Rnd 3: Knit. Rnd 4: Knit. Place held gusset sts onto 3dpn, pick up and knit 1 st over gaap, and join. Total sts: 20 (22.) Knit 3 rnds. Knit K1tbl, P1 rib for 1 cm /0.4". Cast (bind) off. Knit second mitt as first. Weave in ends, closing gaps at base of thumb.
