A. Debbie Bliss Aran Tweed in black B. Dream In Color Groovy in green This project takes a small amount of each yarn, especially the trim yarn. It's great for scraps or a small bit of handspun. Yarn A should be around Aran weight and yarn B a level or 2 bulkier.
Needles and Notions
$4.5\:\mathrm{mm/US}$ size7 4buttons, about $\mathbf{1}/\mathbf{2}$ inch size small sewing needle that will work with your buttons, and large needle for weaving in ends

Sizing Make these about $1/4$ to $\mathbf{1}/\mathbf{2}$ inch shorter than the desired wrist circumference so they are not too loose. A woman's small is $6^{\circ}$ around, and medium about $7^{\circ}$ Instructions are given for small.
Instructions - Make 2 the same.
Using B and the long tail method, cast on 12. Cut yarn, leaving a few inches to weave in. You are now done with yarn B. Attach A and using A work stockinette stitch for 4 rows. On $5^{\mathrm{th}}$ row (a Rs/knit row): k3, yo, k2tog, kto 5 sts from end, ssk, yo, k3. Next row: purl. Continue in stockinette stitch until piece measures 5" or about .75” shorter than desired length. Work 8 rows of garter stitch. Bind off. Steam block, but not too much. A slight curl on the edges is desired. Attach buttons, weave in all ends.
