Women's Size Medium Width- 20 cm/ 8 ins Length- 25 cm/ 10 ins Yarn: 2 balls (50 g) Sirdar KIKO Needles: 8.oo mm double pointed set Rnd 4- K Tension: 10 sts and 14 rows = 10 cm/4 ins over st st LEFT MITTEN: Cast on 16 sts, divide evenly onto 3 needles. Place a marker on 1st st and join in round. Work 8 rounds in K1/P1 ribbing. K 2 rounds. Shape Gussett: Rnd 3- Kfb (k into front and back of next st), place marker on needle, k to last 2 sts, place marker on needle, kfb, k1. Rnd 5- K Rep last 3 rnds 2 more times working kfb into st right before 1st marker and into st right after 2nd marker = 22 sts. Thumb Opening: Next Rnd- K to last 3 sts, slip next 6 sts onto holder (last 3 sts and first 3 sts), \*\*cast on 2 sts, place marker for beg of rnd, k to end = 18 sts. Divide sts as follows- 5 sts on 1st needle, 4 sts on 2nd needle, 9 sts on 3rd needle. Continue to knit each round until work measures 10 cm/ 4 ins from thumb opening. Shape Top: Next Rnd- (1ist needle) skp, k to end, (2nd needle) k to last 2 sts, k2tog, (3rd needle) skp, k to last 2 sts, k2tog. Next Rnd- K Rep last 2 rnds until 6 sts remain. Cut yarn and thread through rem sts, tighten and secure. Thumb: Slip 6 sts from holder onto 2 needles. Attach yarn, pick up and k 3 sts across opening, divide sts onto 3 needles = 9 sts. Work in k rounds for 6 cm/ 2 1/2 ins. Shape Top: Next Rnd- [K1, k2tog] rep to end. Cut yarn and thread through rem sts, tighten and secure. RIGHT MITTEN: Work as Left Mitten until \*\*. Place marker for beg of rnd, cast on 2 sts, k to end of rnd. Divide sts as follows- 9 sts on 1st needle, 5 sts on 2nd needle, 4 sts on 3rd needle. Continue to knit each rnd until work measures 10 cm/ 4 ins from thumb opening. Shape Top: Next Rnd- (1st needle) skp, k to last 2 sts, k2tog, (2nd needle) skp, k to end, (3rd needle) k to last 2 sts, k2tog. Next Rnd- E Rep last 2 rnds until 6 sts remain. Cut yarn and thread through rem sts, tighten and secure. Work Thumb as for Left Mitten.
