I came up with this pattern as an alternative to knitting a basic ribbedscarfbecause: a) I prefer crocheting but like the look of knitting. b) It seemed like a good way to try out Tunisian crochet (or afghan crochet) for the first time. Availability: free (Do not sell this pattern.) Skill level:beginner Materials: Tunisian crochet hook - size J $(6\,\mathsf{m m})$ I or select for preferred width Worsted yarn (I used about 500 - 600 yards of Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool) Measuring tape Tapestry needle and scissors to finish

Stitch Explanations and Abbreviations:
(Look online for video tutorials. The NexStitch tutorials helped me a ton.) st $=$ stitch $\mathbf{vo}=$ yarn over ch $=$ Chain Stitch Create slip knit and insert hook into it. YO and draw through loop on hook tks $=$ TunisianKnit Stitch Insert hook from front to back through the vertical bar, YO from the back side of work, pull up a loop. tps $=$ TunisianPurl Stitch Wrap yarn around front of hook, insert hook from front to back through the vertical bar, move yarn back behind hook and then YO, pull through just one loop. RR $=$ BasicReturn Row YO, draw through one loop, $\sf{*v o}$ , draw through two loops\* repeat across until only one loop remains on hook.
Instructions:
Ch 28 across. Row 1: Skip first chain or stitch, tks in next 2 st, \*tps in next 2 st, tks in next 3 st\* repeat 5 times. Row 2: RRto the end. Repeat Rows 1-2 until desired length (adult size is approximately 5 feet long). Finish off.
