Anchors a-Weigh by Kathie MacDonald-Vargo

My father was in the Navy and had always had a fondness for the sea and for sailing ships. He got so cold these last few years it just made perfect sense to make him a scarf that would help to keep him warm and remind him of his days at sea. Sadly, he passed away before Iwas able to give it to him. I gifted the scarf to a very dear friend who was also in the Navy in my fathers honour. Description: a seamans scarf with panels of anchors and a band of ribbing across the neck. The scarf is knitted up one side and across the neck, then CO and knitted on the other side and grafted together. Pattern is both charted and written. Yarn: Madelinetosh Pashmina Sport Weight (75/15/10 merino/silk/cashmere) 360 yrs per skein. Total skeins used: 1 Needle Size: US 5 Guage: is of no matter. The scarf is designed to use however much yarn you have or want. You decide the number of panels and how long you wish the neck band to be. Original scarf has a panel of 5 anchors and a ribbing band of 12 1/2 inches. Experience Level: easy with some cables designed by CorsairmacDesigns 2012. Supplies: stitch markers, yarn needle for weaving in ends, blocking aids as needed Chart is read from right to left on the RS (odd numbered) rows and from left to right on the WS (even numbered) rows. The colour coding is just a reminder to read the chart from that side on that row.
CO 47 stitches and knit 10 rows of seed stitch (k1,p1)
