Cast on 58sts loosely, I use the Lace Cast on from http://www.eunnyjang.com/knit/2006/03/majoring_ in lace_part iv.html Scroll down the page to find it. Work pattern: Every row knit the first st and last st. Work the pattern for 7 repeats in-between.
The st count will increase on the right side rows and decrease on the wrong side back to starting number of sts. Work 30 repeats or until yarn runs out
