Materials:
Blue Sky Alpacas alpaca & Silk - $50\%$ alpaca, $50\%$ silk)colour:I16 $^{9}$ skeins 146 yds/138m per 50g $4\mathsf{m m}\cup\mathsf{S}\ 6$ needles - I would sug gest using a circular needle to work back and forth on due to the width of this piece
Yarn substitutes:
Any light double knitting or sports weight yarn - preferable a smooth yarn such as a merino or a cotton that will show the textured leaves off to their best advantage. A plain coloured yarn would probably be best.
Sizes:
One size 72"/182cm long by 22"/56cm approximately.
Gauge:
24 stitches by 24 rows blocked - As this is a wrap getting the same gauge is not critical. If you have any problems with the pattern please do not hesitate to contact me and I will see what I can do to help you. Like wise if you should find any errors in the pattern please let me know so that I can correct them
Lace Leaf Wrap
A pretty little wrap, perfect to wear over those spring and summer dresses and keep away the chill. It is knitted in a luscious alpaca silk combination but you could just as easily knit it in soft wool or even a crisp cotton to team it with your favourite jeans. Patterned with three different leafy designs interspersed with bands of stocking stitch this wrap offers a challenge to any knitter looking to expand their skills without worrying about shaping at the same time.

Continue working in this manner following the charts or written instructions for the three leaf patterns while keeping the seed stitch border and stocking stitch panels between them and slipping the stitch markers as you come to them. Please note that the stitch count on all three leaf patterns varies from row to row and that all three patterns have differing numbers of rows so you will need to keep track of where you are in each pattern - don't worry you will soon memorise the easier patterns and know where you are in them just by looking at them. Continue until you have finished 24 repeats of Leaf pattern 3 (the shaped leaf edging). Once this has been done continue knitting, following the patterns as set on all three leaf patterns until both the other two patterns have complete leaves ( if pattern 2 reaches at this stage before pattern 1 just continue to repeat row 1 of pattern 2 until Pattern 1 reaches this stage. (This is not essential but it gives a neater finish with no partial leaves) Work 6 rows of seed stitch and then cast off in pattern Finishing Weave in any ends and then block lightly so as not to flatten the three dimensional leaf shapes.
