Notes
The socks are knit top down.A different toe and heel can be used in place of the recommended ones. In both sock sizes, the idea behind having more stitches around the colorwork is that stranding colorwork does not stretch as much as the surrounding stockinette. Rather than go up in needle size to create more stretch, stitches are increasedaroundthecolorworkportionofthesock. However, if the colorwork is still too tight to allow the sock to fit over the heel, a larger needle size can be used in addition to the increased number of stitches.

Gusset
Next row (RS): Pick up and knit the 18 slipped sts along the heel flap. Pick up an additional stitch between the heel flap and top of the foot. Pm.This is now the beginning of the rnd. Rnd 1: K30 (36) sts, pm, Pick up an additional stitch between the heel flap and top of the foot before picking up and knitting the 18 slipped sts along the heel flap. Knit to end. 84 (94) ststotal. Foot
Continue in stockinette stitch until the sock measures 11/4 (134)" / 3 (4.5)cm from total desired foot length.
Toe
Rnd 1: [K1, ssk, knit to 3 sts before the marker, k2tog, k1, sm] twotimestotal Rnd 2: Knit Keep working rnds 1 and 2 until 32 (32) stitches remain. Slip the first half of the stitches onto one needle. Slip the remaining stitches onto the second needle. Graft the toe together.
