Rip-off Scarf
BEFORE STARTING
Aslan Trends Del Cerro (1oo% merino wool; 127y/50g), color grey (18), 4 skeins (MC) Nashua Handknits Julia (5o% wool, 25% alpaca, 25% kid mohair; 93y/50g), color key lime (NHJ.1878), 1 skein (CC) Needle size: 5.5 mm/9US Notions: yarn needle, crochet hook and 8.5" cardboard for fringe Gauge: 12 sts and 16 rows = 4" (10 cm) over garter stitch with MC held double on larger needles. Finished size: 6" wide x 54" long, or 66" long with fringe.
INSTRUCTIONS
Increases
With MC held double, CO 2 sts. R1: Kfb, k to end. Repeat until 22 stitches are on needle. Body of scarf K each r until scarf is 4.5 feet from CO edge. Decreases K2tog, k to end. Repeat dec r until 2 sts are left on needle. K2tog, cut yarn and draw tail through last st.
Finishing
Block piece to measurements, if desired. Weave in ends. For fringe, wrap CC yarn 7 times around cardboard without pulling tightly. Cut at one edge. Using a crochet hook, pull the center of the yarn group through the tip of the scarf; pull ends through the open loop. Repeat 25 times, attaching 13 total fringe evenly to each end.

Caring for your garment
Hand wash garment in cool water with gentle wool wash. Do not rub or wring. Squeeze out excess water, then spin in washing machine or roll in towels to remove rest of water. Lay garment flat to dry out of direct sunlight and shape to original measurements.
