MCL EOD'S SO BY Elizabeth Elwell-Cook Rnot Garden Meedlework

A simple but striking raglan baby sweater, with a “boutique look" colourway, and Russian (diagonal buttoned) neck opening. When one of my best friends announced she was having a baby boy, I asked what she would like me to make him, thinking that she would like one of my christening gowns. Instead, she asked if I could knit him something for his first winter, when he was going to be 6 months old. I scoured the internet for free raglan patterns in stocking stitch, to suit the colours and yarns I had available to make a trendy little jumper for her little man... So, though I'd hardly call myself an experienced knitter, I decided to do my own, applying logic to a couple of other kids patterns I had, to make my own, unique design. Then I decided that it would be published, free - so that you, dear reader, wouldn't have the trouble I had, and as a thank you for all those other people who taught me, and put their own work up for the love of it.
