GAUGE
12 sts and 17 rows = 4" in Seed st with larger needles To save time and ensure proper fit, take time to check gauge.

Two strands of yarn are held tog for entire garment.
PATTERN STITCHES
1/1 Ribbing (worked on an even number of sts) All rows: \*K1, pl, rep from \* across. Seed Stitch (worked on an odd number of sts) All rows: K1, \*p1, kl; rep from \* across.
BACK:
With smaller needles, cast on 30 (36, 42) sts. Work even in 1/1 Ribbing for 7 (9, 11) rows, inc 3 (3, 5) sts evenly across last WS row - 33 (39, 47) sts. Change to larger needles and work even in Seed st until back measures 7 (8, 10)" from beg, ending with a WS row. Shape underarm Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows - 29 (35, 43) sts. Raglan shaping Dec Row: Ssk, work in established pat to last 2 sts, k2tog. Work 2 rows even. [Rep last 3 rows] 5 (7, 9) times more, ending with Dec Row - 17 (19, 23) sts. Size 8-10 only: Work 2 rows even. Place sts on holder, leaving a long end for sewing seam.

FRONT
Work as for back until 4 (5, 8) raglan dec have been completed, ending with a WS row - 21 (25, 27) sts. Neck shaping Place center 5 (7, 9) sts on holder. Working on both sides of neck with separate balls of yarn, dec 1 st at each neck edge every row 4 times, at the same time working remaining raglan decs. Fasten off last sts. Cut yarn, leaving a long end for sewing seam.
SLEEVES
With smaller needles, cast on 18 (20, 24) sts. Work even in 1/1 Rib for 9 (11, 13) rows, inc 3 (5, 7) sts on last WS row - 21 (25, 31) sts. Change to larger needles and work even in Seed st until sleeve measures 8 1%2 (10 1/2, 12 12) from beg, ending with a row. Shape underarm Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows - 17 (21, 27) sts. Work raglan decs same as for back until 5 (5, 7) sts rem, ending with WS row. Size 8-10 only: Work 2 rows even. Cut yarn, leaving a long end for sewing seam. Place sts on holder.
Beg at top of pocket with larger needles, cast on 11 (17, 21) sts. Row 1 (WS): \*K1, pl; rep from \* across, ending with k1. Inc Row: Inc 1 st in first st, work in established Seed st pat to last st, inc 1 st in last st. Work 2 rows even. Rep last 3 rows until there are 21 (27, 35) sts on needle. Mark each end st to define where opening begins when stitching pocket to front. Work even in Seed st until pocket measures 5 (7, 8 /2)' from beg. Bind off all sts with smaller needle.
NECKBAND
Sew raglan seams. With smaller circular needle, knit across 5 (5, 7) sts of left sleeve, pick up and knit 5 (5, 5) sts along left neck edge, knit across 5 (7, 9) sts of front holder, pick up and knit 5 (5, 5) sts along right neck edge, knit 5 (5,7) sts of right sleeve, and 17 (19, 23) sts from back neck holder, place marker between first and last st - 42 (46, 56) sts. Work even in 1/1 Ribbing for 5 (7, 9) rows. Bind off loosely in ribbing.
ASSEMBLY
Pin pocket to front of sweater, making sure it is centered. Beg at one marker, sew pocket to front, stitching along side, across bottom and ending at second marker. Sew top of pocket to sweater. (Angled edges remain open.) Sew sleeve and side seams.
