Clue #2
For Clue #2 you will be knitting the foot and gussets. I recommend weaving in all the yarn ends after each clue to minimize finishing work at the end of the project. This clue gives two sizes the original size with 60 total sts, and a larger size with [68]total sts. The larger size was added by request on the July Mystery Sock thread.
Foot
Row 1: Work in red: k2, move these two sts to the end of round (the second needle), k 26[30], move last two sts on the first needle to the second needle, k1, right twist, k28[32], right twist, k1. Row 2: Work in off white: k26 [30] (needle 1), pl, k2, pl, pm, k26[30], pm, p1, k2, pl Row 3: Work in red: Knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts as you come to them. Row4: Work in off white: k6[30] need 1),,sl,sm, k6[30], sm,pl, sl,p. Kep fairly le tension as you pass the yarn behind the two slipped sts. You have now completed rows 1-4 on the gusset chart. Continue working stockinette stitch in the established stripe pattern, and inserting the gusset charts between the markers on each side of the fot. Once you've completed the gusset charts, repeat rows 26 & 27 until the foot is about $2\,\mathrm{in}./5\,\mathrm{cm}$ shorter than desired length. Do not pull heavily on the sock as you measure or it will be too tight and will wear out at the toes and heels faster. You want it to reach the spot where your ankle joins your shin with only a slight stretch.

Skip the first stitch, knit into 2nd stitch, then knit skipped stitch. Slip both stitches from neede together OR k2tog leaving sts on LH neede, then k frst st again, sl both sts off needle. No Stitch Placeholder - No stitch made.
