Pompom - make 2

Use a piece of cardboard, 6" wide. Wrap the yarn around the cardboard a minimum of 150 to 200 times. Carefully slide the yarn off the cardboard. Take a piece of yarn about 12" long and tie tightly around the middle of the bundle of yarn. Cut all the loops at each end and shape. Tie the pompom to the middle bottom of each end of the scarf. To cinch the end of the scarf, take a piece of yarn and needle and weave it through the end of the scarf, all the way across. Pull the yarn tight, tie and weave in the ends. See picture below. Or instead of a big pompom, add a few pretty roses! See pictures below. Leaf -make 1 Using F hook, ch 10, 2tr in 3rd ch from hook, dc, dc, hdc, hdc, sc, sc, fasten off, leaving a 10" tail. Sew to hat. Rose - make 2 Using F hook, ch 5, sc in 5th ch from hook, \*ch 8, sc in 5th ch from hook\*, repeat from \* to \* 4 times. Ch 1, turn, 7sc into loop made from sk chs, \*sl st in middle ch on base between loops, 7sc into loop,\* repeat from \* to \* to the end, fasten off. From the same end as tail, roll and stitch after each loop to end. Stitch to hat. Rose bud - make 1 Using F hook, ch 5, sc in 5th ch from hook, \*ch 8, sc in 5th ch from hook\*, repeat from \* to \* once.
