Materials:
1 x 150g Wollmeise Sock "Rhabarber" [Rhubarb] (MC) 1 x 150g Wollmeise Sock "Drachenblut" [Dragonblood] (CC) Or any sock weight or fingering yarn that will knit up at 9 sts: 1" One pair of socks uses approximately half a skein of each colour Needles: 2.50mm circular needle 2.00mm DPNS Stitch Markers (optional) Tapestry needle Gauge: 9 sts per inch over stranded poppy pattern 10 rows per inch over pattern

Instructions: Cuff:
Using MC, and 2.5mm needles, cast on 145 sts Join by slipping last stitch over first stitch. 144sts. PM to mark beginning of round.

R1: k2tog all around 72sts rem Join in CC. R2 - R6: \* k2 CC, p2 MC. Rep from \* to end.
Bobble row:
Using MC work 5 st bobble row R7: \* M1 bobble, (k1, p1, k1, p1, k1) into next stitch k5, turn (Ws) p5, turn (RS) k5, turn (Ws) Pass $2^{\mathsf{n d}}$ st over $1^{\mathfrak{s t}}$ st Pass $3^{\mathsf{r d}}$ st over $1^{\mathfrak{s t}}$ st Pass $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ st over $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ st Pass $5^{\mathrm{th}}$ st over $1^{\mathrm{{st}}}$ Move rem st $(1^{\mathfrak{s t}}\,\mathfrak{s t})$ to RHN k1 MC, p2MC Rep from \* to end turn Continue in rib patt as set: R8-12: \* k2 CC, p2 MC. Leg:
Begin chart. Work 4 repeats of chart around sock. Work 28 rows of chart #1 2 times(56 rows) or until leg length desired. Finish the pattern on row 3 or 17 to balance pattern . For variations in leg length, you can add or subtract plain rows, or finish the pattern repeat half way through.

Band: Repeat band R1-R6 as above Heel Flap: With CC Knit 1 st past stitch marker (repositions pattern for instep)

Change to 2.00mm DPNS Work on next 35 sts for flap: R1: \* k1MC, sl1 wyib, rep from \* to end R2: \* k1 MC, sl1 wyif, rep from \* to end R3: Knit all CC R4: Knit all CC R5: \* s1 wyib, k1MC, rep from \* to last st, bring yarn to front, sl1, turn (end stitch is now wrapped) R6: \* sl1 wyif, k1MC, rep from \* to end last stitch and wrap together R8: Knit all CC Work flap in patt as set for 44 rows, ending with R4. Gusset:
Continuing in checkerboard pattern; knit 9 stitches. This is now the start of the round.

Needle1: Continuing in checkerboard pattern, knit rem 10 heel sts (k1cc, k1mc etc.), pick up and knit 23 sts along the right side of the gusset. Needle 2: Work across next 37 instep stitches in poppy pattern, starting chart at row 1. Strand CC along back of plain rows of instep, trapping yarn behind every $3^{\mathsf{r d}}$ or $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ stitch. Needle 3: Pick up and knit 24 along left side in gusset, in checkerboard pattern (k1MC, k1CC etc). Work to end of round in pinstripe patt as set.
Gusset Decreases:
R1: Needle 1: Work to 2 sts before end of needle 1,ssk Needle 2: Knit across instep sts Needle 3: K2tog, work to end in patt as set R2: On all needles: Knit all sts even (no decreases) [Note: The decreases in R1 in are worked in the opposite way to normal. This helps to hide smallgaps that can occur at the gusset corners.] R3: Needle 1: Work to 3 sts before end of needle 1, k2togCC, k1 Needle 2: Knit across instep sts Needle 3: k1, sskCC, work to end [Note: All decreases are worked with CC] R4: Work allsts even (no decs) Repeat rows 3 & 4 until 73 sts remain. Work R4, then work final dec row: Needle 1: Knit all sts without decreasing Needle 2: Knit across instep sts Needle 3: k1, sskCC, work to end [This balances the rows either side of the gusset] 72sts remain Foot: Continue without decreasing until foot measures 2 inches less than the desired length, finishing on R3 or R17

Toe: Change to 2.00mm needles Work Chart #2. On last row, ssk allround. 9sts rem. Break yarn, fasten off.
