A one-skein gem perfect for autumn! Knit this elegant cowl that pairs warmth with lightness in just a few hours. This cowl was knit with Madelinetosh Eyre, a deliriously soft blend of merino, alpaca, and silk, but 120 yards of any worsted weight yarn will work nicely. Pattern Abbreviations

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together to create one stitch yo: yarnover (bring the yarn to the front of the work, loop it over the top of the Right needle, and bring the yarn to the back again)

Instructions

Cast on 84 stitches using your preferred cast on method (e.g., a long-tail cast on). Join the stitches in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Place a stitch marker to designate the beginning of the round. Purl 1 round. Knit 1 round. Purl 1 round. Begin pattern: Pattern Round 1: \*k2tog, yo; repeat from \* to end of round. Pattern Rounds 2 and 4: knit. Pattern Round 3: \*yo, k2tog; repeat from \* to end of round. These 4 rounds establish the pattern. Work the 4-round pattern a total of 12 times, ending withRound 4. Purl 1 round. Knit 1 round. Purl 1 round. BO stitches loosely knitwise. Weave in ends and block gently if desired.
