Cabled Hand Warmers Pattern for Left and Right Mitts with Top Cuff

Difficulty: Intermediate Materials: Approx. 100 yds. of Worsted Weight yarn Size 7 $(4.5\mathrm{mm})$ DPNs- set of four Yarn needle Gauge: 5.25 stitches $\boldsymbol{\times7}$ rows $\prime\prime$ inch in stockinette stitch (knit in the round) Pattern notes: You will be working the chart for the back of the hand, and at the same time working the thumb gussets. Instructions for each needle are given separately, but worked concurrently. Line-by-line instructions (kindly written up by test-knitter Irkalla) are included on pages 5 & 6. Pattern: CO 35 stitches as follows: 10 st. onto Needle 1, 15 st. onto Needle 2, and 10 st. onto Needle 3.

On all needles (both hands):

Round 1-- Purl Rounds 2-5-- Work Chart B around Rounds 6-37-- follow instructions below for each needle Round 38- purl Round 39-- knitRounds 40-41-- rep. Rounds 38 &39 Bind off. Needle 2 (both hands): Rounds 6-37- work Chart A (pattern repeats four times). At the same time, follow instructions for Left and Right Mitts for remaining needles.

Left Mitt:

Needle 3: Rounds 6-37-- knit Needle 1: (thumb gusset) Rounds 6-13-- knit (corresponds to one repeat of Chart A) Round 14-- k to last 4 sts, M1R, k4 Round 15-- knit Rounds 16-25-- repeat rounds 14 & 15 Rounds 26-29-- knitRound 30-- k6, BO 6 loosely\*, k4 Round 31-- k6, CO 5, slip last CO st to left needle, k2tog, k3 Round 32-- knit.
