Materials: 100 gms Doodlebirds.com hand-painted worsted weight wool. US # 8 $\left(6\,\mathsf{m m}\right)$ needles Gauge: about 17 sts per $4^{\prime\prime}$ . Doesn't have to be exact, it's a scarf! CO 23 sts Row 1: Purl Row 2: K1, $\boldsymbol{*}_{\ p1}$ , k1; repeat from \* across. Row 3: P1, \*yo, sl 1 wyib, p1; repeat from \* across. See note below. Row 4: K1, \*sl 1 wyif, drop yo from previous row off the needle, k1; repeat from \* across. Row 5: P1, $\ast_{S}|$ wyib, p1; repeat from \* across. Row 6: K1, $\ast_{\mathsf{S}}|\;1$ wyif, k1; repeat from \* across. Note on row 3: When you do the yo, bring the yarn up and overthe top of the needle and then, keeping the yarn in the back, sli the next stitch. Then bring the yarn to the front to purl the next st.
