41g Scarflet - free pattern

Maybe you got a nice gift - one ball of a really pretty yarn - and want to utilize it. Or you have some left over. Or just really want to try that fancy yarn and the budget does not allow for a sweater quantity purchase. Whatever the case, this scarflet is for you. It is a lace aimed at the beginner knitter, or as an easy to memorize travel project for the others. After you get to the basic amount of stitches, it is only one row to memorize, so it can be worked over short periods of time. It features a garter stitch border to prevent the edges from rolling.
The lace is formed by yarnovers, whereas the decreases necessary to retain the same amount of stitches are places on the sides of the scarf - there are 4 yarnovers in every row, therefore, on each side there are two decreases. The scarflet is lacy enough to add a feminine touch to an otherwise simple outfit, but understated enough to remain elegant and not to make the result too frilly.
