Materials:
Yarn: Less than 200 yards of worsted weight yarn. Any worsted weight yarn will do, for the first hats I used Hobby Lobby “"I Love This Yarn", for the purple hat I used Cascade 220. Hook: Size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook Gauge: 3.5 in x 3.5 in after Round 4 Notions: darning needle After Round 2 it should look like this: Sizing: baby, child/adult small, adult medium, adult large
Stitches Used:
sl st: slip stitch ch: chain sc: single crochet dc: double crochet

Pattern: This pattern is crocheted in the round from crown to brim. Round 1: ch 4 and sl st into the first ch to form a loop Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc 2 into the loop you created in round 1, ch 2, \*dc 3, ch2\* repeat from \* 3 times. sl st into the top of the ch3. sl st across the top of the next 2 dc sts ending in the gap created by ch 2. At the end of the round you should have 11 dc, 4 ch2 spaces, and 1 ch3 and your project should look like a little square. Round 3 : Ch 3 to start next round, dc 2, ch. 2, dc 3 into the same space, ch. 1, \*dc 3, ch. 2, dc 3 into the ch 2 space from the last round, ch. 1\* , repeat from \* to \* around. , sl st into 3rd chain of the beginning ch3. Sl st through first 2 dc's into the ch.2 space. Round 4 : Ch 3, 2 dc, ch. 2, 3 dc into the same space, ch. 1, \*dc 3 into the ch. I space from the last round, ch 1, dc 3, ch. 2, dc 3 into the ch 2 space from the last round, ch. 1\* , repeat from \* to \* around., sl st into 3rd chain of the beginning ch3. Sl st through first 2 dc's into the ch. 2 space. Repeat Round 4: 0, 1, 2, 3 more times for desired size Round 5: Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1 into the same space, \*dc 3, ch 1\* around, sl st into 3rd chain of the beginning ch3. Sl st through first 2 dc's into the ch. 1 space. Repeat Round 5: 6, 9, 10, 11 Finishing: Edging Option 1: After repeating Round 5 to desired length, sl st into the beginning ch 3, pull tail through sl st, weave in ends and enjoy! Edging Option 2: After repeating Round 5 to desired length, sl st into the beginning ch 3, pull tail through sl st, ch 1, sc into top of ch 3 and sc around (in dc stitches and ch 1 spaces),sl st into the beginning sc, pull tail through sl st, weave in ends and enjoy! This hat looks great with embellishments too!
