Ant Egg Cowl Knitting Pattern: Unique Stitch Creates Reversible Waterfall Effect

The Ant Egg Cowl

Pattern illustration

by Mary Gavan Looking through a l950's leaflet of stitch patterns I found the “Ant Egg Stitch". For this cowl I used the stitch in the round, which gives a different twist on the pattern. Although the stitch pattern is not meant to be reversible, the back side has a very attractive waterfall effect created by the slipped stitches. The two patterns, front and back, contrast nicely together. The cowl is long enough to be wrapped a second time around the neck or pulled up over the head for a hat and scarf combination. Enjoy your cowl! Size One Size Finished Measurements 49 inches long x 8 inches wide (after blocking)
