Scrap length of yarn for holding stitches Tension: 30sts $=$ 4inches These fingerless mittens are designed especially for toddlers, getting full gloves onto toddlers can be very hard, but often they don't like the restriction o:

closed mittens, fingerless mittens are a happy compromise to keep hands warmer. The ribbing makes them easy to get on and allows the mittens to fit a range of sizes. The mittens are worked in the round, with no seems at all. Directions are for 4 double pointed needles, but you can use 5needles or circular needles if you prefer. The thumbs are knitted first, put on scarp yarn while the beginning of the hand is worked. The thumbs are then knitted in, shaping the thumb gusset, then onto the cuff. You can knit the cuffs as long as you desire, making the most of small quantity of yarn needed for this project.
