Material list:
yarn: Worsted weight yarn. I used Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Cotton 1 skein (100% organic cotton; 150 yds / 137 m] Color Code: \*627\* Flamingo tools: size 8 (5 mm) 16" circular needles, stitch marker (m), tapestry needle Or size to obtain gauge.
Finished size:
Toddler to Child 11.5" wide 7.5" height
Gauge:
18 sts and 34 rows per 4" in Feather and Fun Pattern using larger needle
Garter Stitch:
In the round Row 1: Purl Row 2: Knit Rep rows1 and 2 for garter st.
Feather and Fun Pattern:
In the round Row 1: \*k2tog k2tog yo k yo k yo k yo k k2tog k2tog\* repeat at the end row Row 2: Knit Row 3: Purl Rep rows1 to 3 for the feather and fun pattern
Abbreviations:
BO = bind off CO = cast on K, k = knit K2tog = knit 2 sts together to decrease 1 stitch pm = place marker P, p = purl RS = right side of finished work sm = slip marker from left needle to right needle st(s) = stitch(es) WS = wrong side of finished work Yo = Yoke
The Pattern:
With the needles, CO 72 sts. Place marker, and join to work in the round, being careful not to twist sts. Begin garter stitch rnd 1: Knit rnd 2: Purl
Begin Feather and Fun Pattern (RS)
Work this pattern around to 7" height Begin garter stitch (RS) rnd 1: Knit rnd 2: Purl BO stitch loosely.
Finishing:
