This hat is knit in-the-round using a soft worsted weight yarn. The lace pattern is based on 7 stitches. Hat can easily be modified to make a newborn or adult size. Rolled edge
With smaller needle, cast on 77 stitches. Place marker and join in the round, being careful not to twist stitches. Knit 3 rounds. Lace Pattern Round 1: \*K5, P2, place marker\*, repeat to end of round. Round 2: \*K5, P2, slip marker\*, repeat to end of round. Round 3: \*K2tog, YO, K 1 stitch through back loop, YO, SSK, P2, slip marker\*, repeat to end of round. Round 4: \*K5, P2, slip marker\*, repeat to end of round. Repeat rounds 1 through 4 two more times. Three lace sections completed. Remove markers except for end of round marker. Switch to larger needle. Knit in the round until hat measures 3.25 inches from last lace pattern round.
