Peace Sign
Make a magic circle, ch 13.
Round 1
(Tr in circle, ch 3)2X. Tr, ch 6. Pull short end of yarn to close circle. Slip st in the 6th sp of starting ch. Ch 1.

Round 2
13 hdc in first sp. (5 hdc in next ch 3 sp)2X. 13 hdc in last sp. Join with a sl st. End off. Cut thread.
Lacy Background
Round 1
Work in the back loop only for the entire row.
Join yarn 3 spaces over from end of last row. Ch 3, dc in same sp. (Ch 1, sk 2, 2 dc in next)10X. sk 2, 2 dc in next. Join with a dc in top of turning ch. Brings yarn to the correct place to start row 2. Ch 3
Round 2
2 dc in first sp.\* (ch 1, sk 2. 2 dc in next ch 1 sp.)2x. Ch 1. Sk 2, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc)in next sF repeat from\*3x. (ch 1, sk 2. 2 dc in next ch 1 sp.)2x. Ch 1. Sk 2, 3 dc in same sp. End with ch 3. sl st into top of turning ch. End off. Cut thread.
Round 3
Join yarn in corner sp. ch 1. 2 Sc in first sp. Sc around make 3 sc in each corner sp. End with 1 sc in beginning corner sp. Sl t join. End off. Cut yarn
Make the second square the same way but do not cut yarn. Joining the squares. Stack the two squares together right sides facing. Slip st along the edges through both squares at the same time, just catching the back loop only. Work up to the 2nd sc in the corner. End off Cut thread. Make and join 2 more squares the same way. When you are 1/2 way through, or 4 squares completed and joined. Make a 5th square and join it with the peace sign facing upside down. When the scarf is worn, both sides will have peace signs facing upwards. Join the additional 3 squares to match. Do not cut yarn after last st. Ch 1
Edging
Sc around, working in the back loop only. Make 3 sc in the center st at each of the 4 corners. Join with a sl st. End off. cut thread. Weave in ends with a tapestry needle.
Solid Background Scarf
Follow the directions from the beginning to round 2 of the peace sign
Round 1 Solid background
Join yarn in the 5th st st from end of peace sign. Ch 3 Dc in the next 8 sts. (Ch 3. Dc in the next 9 sts) 3X. Dc in the top of the turning chain. ch 3
Round 2
Dc in same space. (Dc in next 9 sts. 2 dc, ch 3 , 2 dc in corner space.)4x. 2 dc in beginning sp. ch 3. Join with a sl in top of turning chain. End off. Cut yarn and continue with directions from round 3 of lacy background scarf.
