REED Shawlette by Meiju K-P

This crescent shaped shawl is simple and easy to knit. It is made from soft organic Cotton, which gives the shawl casual feeling. The pattern is simple and with more yarn you Can grow the reed bigger.
Sizing:
Finished measurements: 64" /160 cm across top edge 14" /35cm deep By adjusting needle size and with different yarn you will get different size alterations. You can also make the shawl bigger with more yarn, just repeat the pattern as long as you like.
Gauge:
14 sts = 4" [10 cm] in Stockinette st. The exact gauge is not important in this pattern. More important is that you will work the size that you want. You can alter the width&depth of the shawl by continuing the pattern extra repeats. NOTE! The sample has been made from exact 3 skeins. If you have different gauge, prepare with enough yarn.
Materials:
Yarn:
Pickles Thin Organic Cotton, DK (100 % organic cotton), approx 3 skeins (50 g, 98/90m per skein) OR any other yarn you prefer. Needles: US 8 (5 mm) 32"/80 cm circular needle. Other: Tapestry needle.

Abbreviations:
CO: cast on BO: bind off st(s): stitch(es) RS: right side WS: wrong side k: knit p: purl yo: yarn over kyok: kl, yo, k1 in same st rep: repeat St st: Stockinette st; knit on RS, purl on WS. Rev St st: Reversed Stockinette st; purl on RS, knit on WS. Moss st: kl, pl across a row, then pl, k1 on the other side; that is: if the st is k on RS, you will k the same st also on WS.

Before you start:
This is a top-down shawlette with a 2-stitch garter edge. Four increases are made on every RS row (two at each edge), and two increases are made on every WS row (one at each edge), resulting in a crescent shape. About the yarn: Yarn is organic cotton which stays about the same after blocking. Try different yarn for different textures!
CO and Set up:
CO 2 sts. K 8 rows. At the end of the 8th row, do not turn work. Pick up and knit 4 sts (one in each garter st ridge) along the long edge of your work, then 2 sts along the CO edge. (8 Sts). Set up row (Ws): k2, yo, p4, yo, k2 (10 sts).
Body of shawlette:
Row 1 (RS): k2, kyok, k to 3 sts before end, kyok, k2. Turn. Row 2 (WS): k2, yo, p to 2 sts before end, yo, k2. Turn. Repeat these two rows 4 more times (1 set up row + 10 rows in St st). Row 11 (RS): k2, kyok, p to 3 sts before end, kyok, k2. Turn. Row 12 (WS): k2, yo, k to 2 sts before end, yo, k2. Turn. Repeat rows 11&12 4 more times (10 rows in rev St st). The body of shawlette is formed of these 20 rows; 10 rows in St st and 10 rows in rev St st. Repeat these 20 rows 3 more times.
Moss stitch edge:
Row 1 (RS): k2, kyok, \*moss st: p1, k1\*, rep \*- \* to 3 sts before end, kyok, k2. Turn. Row 2 (WS): k2, yo, work in moss st to 2 sts before end, yo, k2. Turn. Repeat moss sts 2 more rows, BO loosely (in moss st). Wet block the shawl and weave all yarn ends.
