The hat is worked from the brim towards the crown, seamlessly in the round. Skill level:

Sices: onesize.Tofitahead circumference of 55-61cm/21.7-24" Materials, notions: Yarn: Malabrigo Arroyo - 100% Merino (306m / 335 yd / 100g). Yarn needs: 170 m / 185 yd. Needles:3.5mm/Us4 and 4.0mm / US6 needles (adjust all needle sizes if necessary to get gauge!) Notions: 2 cable needles, 1 stitch marker, darning needle.

Gauge:

24 sts x 34 rows on 4.0mm / US6 needles (in stockinette stitch) =10 x 10 cm / 4x4"; measured flat, unstretched, blocked.

+ABBREVIATIONS, STITCHES:

k - knit stitch through the front loop p -purl st - stitch(es) \*...\* or (..) - repeat instructions between the asterisks or parenthesis as many times as directed after. No number of repetition means to repeat the instructions to the end of round. CN - cable needle p2tog (decrease) - purl 2 sts together through the front loop. ssk (decrease) - slip a stitch as if to knit, slip a second stitch as if to knit, then slide the left-hand needle into the front part of both stitches and knit them together. dt4 (double twist on 4 sts) slip 1 stitch onto CN1, hold at front. Slip 2 sts onto CN2 and hold at back. Knit the next stitch, purl 2 sts from CN2, then knit 1 st from CN1. dt3 - (double twist on 3 sts) slip 1 stitch onto CN1, hold at front. Using 3.5mm / US4 needles and long tail cast-on method, CO 150 sts. Join stitches in the round, being careful not to twist them and mark the beginning of rounds with a stitch marker. Start working the following rounds: Rnd 1-12: \*k2, p1\*. Hat bodny. Switch to 4.0mm / US6 needles and start repeating the following 6 row pattern until you have worked 15cm (or to desired length) measured from cast-on and ending with rnd 3!
