fair isle bag pattern fchart only) by chrissy fletcher

This chart was the very first pattern I designed. I didn't know I was going to release it at the time, so I didn't write it down. when a request was made, on Ravelry, for me to release the pattern all I could offer was the chart, which I had kept. Whilst this chart was created to make a messenger bag, it can be used for any other stranded colourwork project, substituting colours as needed.

For my bag project I used 4 colours of double knit weight wool. The pattern is 20 stitches wide, and for the bag I made, repeated 8 times, to give a stitch count of 160, joined in the round. The pattern is 80 rows high and is only repeated once, however if a taller or shorter bag were required, either a section could be removed or repeated. I hope you have fun with the pattern and enjoy the projects you create using this chart.
