Materials: Numma Numma Toasty 2 sets US #1. $/2.25\mathrm{mm}$ circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge) 2 sets US #2/2.75mm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge) Guage: $16~\mathrm{sts}/22~\mathrm{Rows}=2^{,*}$ in stockinette stitch using the larger needles. TW2 (Twist2) Knit the next two stitches together, without dropping the stitches off the left needle. Then insert the right needle in the first stitch on the left needle, knit it, allowing both stitches to drop off the needle. Beginning at the cuff of the sock, using smaller needle and the long tail cast-on, loosely cast on 64 (76) stitches. Divide these stitches evenly between the two circular needles. Being careful not to twist, begin knitting rounds. Round 1: K2, P2 around Round 2: K2, P2 around Round 3: twist 2, P2 around Repeat these 3 rounds 5 more times for a total of 6 twists. Then repeat rounds 1 and 2 one more time.

Begin leg: Switch to larger needles and increase one stitch at the beginning of first needle by knitting into the stitch below the stitch on the needle. K2 stitches. Increase one stitch by knitting into the stitch below the needle. Knit 30 stitches to the end of the stitches on this needle. Repeat for the second needle. There should now be 34 (40) stitches on each needle giving a total of 68 (80) stitches. Pattern Round 1: P1, TW2, P1, \* K4, TW2 \* repeat from \* to \* till the last stitch on the needle. Repeat on the second needle. Pattern Round 2: P1, K2, P1, K3, \* TW2, ${\bf K}4^{*}$ repeat from \* to \* till 1 stitch remains, K1. Repeat on second needle. Pattern Round 3: P1, TW2, P1, K2, \* TW2, K4 \* repeat from \* to \* till 2 stitches remain, K2. Repeat on second needle. Pattern Round 4: P1, K2, P1, K1 \* TW2, K4 \* repeat from \* to \* till 3 stitches remain, K3. Repeat on second needle. Pattern Round 5: P1, TW2, P1, \* TW2, K4 \* repeat from \* to \* to last stitch on the needle. Repeat on second needle. Pattern Round 6: P1, K2, P1, K5 $^*$ TW2, ${\bf K}4^{*}$ repeat from \* to \* till 1 stitch remains, K1. Repeat on second needle. These six rows make up the pattern. Repeat them until the work measures $6^{\circ}$ from the cast on edge.

Size Medium chart: (Execute twice; once for front of sock and again for back/bottom).

Size Large chart: (Execute twice; once for front of sock and again for back/bottom).

Begin heel flap: At the end of a round, place the first 38 (44) stitches on a holder (this will be the two 4 stitch patterns on each side of the sock and the 30 (36) stitch pattern from the front.) The heel flap is worked on the30 stitches that are not on the holder. The holder includes the two 4 stitch side patterns. Slipping the first stitch, purl back across the stitches remaining on the live needle. \* S1 1, K1 \* across the row. Repeat these two rows 15 (17) more times for a total of 32 (36) rows. Purl back. Turn the Heel: SL1, K15 (18), SSK, K1 SL1, P3, P2tog, P1 SL1, K4, SSK, K1 SL1, P5, P2tog, P1 SL1, K6, SSK, K1 SL1, P7, P2tog, P1 SL1, K8, SSK, K1 SL1, P9, P2tog, P1 SL1, K10, SSK, K1 SL1, P11, P2tog, P1 SL1, K12, SSK, K1 SL1, P13, P2tog, P1 SL1, K14, SSK, K1 SL1, P15, P2tog, P1 Small heel is turned. 16 stitches remain. SL1, K16, SSK, K1 SL1, P17, P2tog, P1 Large heel is turned. 20 stitches remain.

up and Knit through the back loop 17 (19) stitches along the edge of the heel flap. Knit the instep stitches and the extra four stitches on each side of the instep on the top needle and continuing the pattern as established. Pick up and knit through the back loop 17 (19) stitches. Knit across to the end of the bottom stitches. Rounds will begin at the side of the top or instep from here on. The bottom of the sock (sole) is knit in stockinette stitch and the top of the sock (instep) continues in pattern. Decrease Rows: Keep pattern over instep stitches, K1, SSK, Knit across heel to the last 3 stitches, K2tog, K1. Knit one round plain. Alternate these two rounds until 30 (36) sts remain on sole of sock, (instep will have 38 (44). The extra pattern stitches are knit with the instep - after the foot is knit, the stitches will be redistributed so that they are even on the top and bottom. Continue in pattern on instep and stockinette on sole until sock measures $2^{\bullet}$ less than the total foot length desired ending at the end of the bottom. Move 2 stitches from each end of the top/instep to the bottom/sole to make both sides equal again; 34 (40) stitches on each needle. Begin toe shaping. K1, SSK, K to last 3 stitches K2tog, K1. Repeat on back of sock. Knit one round plain. Repeat these two rounds until 12 (14) stitches remain on each of the needles. Graft remaining stitches closed.
