Materials:
\*10 mm / N crochet hook & 8 mm / L hook \* About 6 skeins of worsted weight yarn (I used 2 of each Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in lime and jelly bean for the base of the blanket, plus a little bit of yellow, brown and purple for the attachments. Also 2 Red Heart super saver cherry for the head) \*Yarn Needle \*Scissors \*Optional Stitch Markers Gauge: 8 hdc and 6 rows = 4"” square To obtain gauge use N hook and 2 strands of worsted weight held together. Ch to a little over 4 inches, hdc in 2"d ch from the hk and hdc across. \*ch 1 turn, hdc across\* repeat until a little over 4 inches high.
Pattern Notes:
Ch 1 does NOT count as a st. You will be working with double strands of worsted weight yarn held together all throughout the pattern. You can use a super bulky weight yarn instead of putting 2 strands together. If making as a rug or play mat I highly recommend using a super bulky yarn. You CAN pull from both ends of the yarn to use 2 strands, BUT I find that it's too much work so I pull from 2 different skeins. If using as a rug I highly recommend sewing on some non slip stuff like that rubbery stuff you line shelves with or putting puff paint on the back.

Assembly
· Use the picture as a guide to attach pieces. Since it's a blanket and you'll see the back you won't want to sew the pieces so you can see it on the back. Just go under one or 2 sts, not the entire double strand hdc. Or sew on and create a 2"d head to sew to the back, which will also pad it more. When attaching feet, I center them in the middle of the segment. Make sure the right side is up with the toes pointing towards the head. I prefer to sl st the top of the head and other pieces onto the base, but you can easily sew them on. When I sl st it I lay the pieces back to back and pick up only the back loops. See picturebelow.
