Despicable Me Gru's Scarf
By Erika Barcott http://redshirtknitting.com

This simple scarf was inspired by the one worn by Gru in the movie "Despicable Me." It alternates wide bands of light grey with narrower bands of dark grey.

PATTERN NOTES
e knitting a stockinette tube, then flattening the tube and seaming the ends closed Due to the length of each stripe, I do NoT recommend trying to carry the unused yarn up the inside. Instead, break the yarn at each color change. Feel free to use your favorite method of joining yarn. After you have finished knitting, you can either turn the tube inside-out and weave in all the yarn ends, or just let them dangle inside the tube. (I won't tell)
DIRECTIONS
1. CO 48 stitches in MC. Divide stitches evenly between 4 needles (12 stitches per needle). Place marker and join to knit in the round. 2. Knit 16 rounds in MC. 3. Break MC and join CC. 4. Knit 8 rounds CC. 5. Repeat steps 2-4 until the scarf is your desired length. 6. Cast off all stitches. 7. Flatten your scarf and be sure that the stitch columns match up before you seam the ends closed. If the seams do not match, the scarf will not lay flat. 8. Seam the ends closed.
