Keeping Kippah
Kippah (kipa, kippa) is the Jewish word for head covering (plural kippot or kipot). Kippot are variously called 'yarmulke, yarmulka' in Yiddish, with a wide variation in spelling as well. Jews cover their heads not for modesty or to hide their hair, but to honor the higher power that's 'above' the head-- their God.
Materials
Fingering to sport-weight yarn—25- 30 yds in each of two colors or 50 yd Shown in Vanna's Choice Glamour Heavier fingering or light sportweight: follow 'H' instructions after Rnd 15. Hook—3-4mm (US C to E) 6 sc is approximately 1" for lighter version but you can add rounds at the end if your gauge is smaller Tapestry needle, scissors Stitch marker—split removable

On the following round, work the last sc in the loosely worked sl st, and loosely sl st in the first sc of the round. It might be easier to put a marker on the first sc each round; take care not to double that first stitch.
