One Stitch/Four Designs
The Whipsaw Stitch is an intriguing back-and-forth eyelet pattern that looks like complicated cabling but is made up of simple increases and decreases balanced with yarn-overs. The instructions for the Whipsaw Stitch are written and charted.
Whipsaw Pullover
A traditional fitting sweater with updated details: a panel of the Whipsaw Stitch on the front, Reverse Stockinette stitch sleeves, and a litle short row shaping at the back neck. Worked from the bottom up in one piece, the body is worked first to the armholes, the sleeves are worked next and then joined to the body to complete the yoke.
Whipsaw Cowl
Instructions are given for both a neck warmer or a longer cowl that can wrap twice around the neck. A 2x2 ribbing offsets the Whipsaw Stitch.
Whipsaw Beret
The Beret is designed with a moderate amount of slouch and has a stretchy rib that will accommodate a range of head sizes. Adding repeats of the whipsaw Stitch before shaping the crown will add more slouch.
Whipsaw Mitts
The easy-to-follow directions are written out line by line, and notes are given for adjusting both the width and length of the mitts. The Pullover is written for worsted weight yarn; the Cowl for worsted weight yarn, but can be worked in DK weight; the Beret for DK weight and can be worked in worsted weight for a slightly larger, looser fit; and the Mitts are written for fingering weight yarn.
