Yarn: This pattern uses 2 colors - green and black. You will need approximately 100-125 yards of any medium/worsted weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Kelly Green (Colour A) and Black (Colour B). Hook: US size 1/9 or 5.50 mm Tapestry needle: To weave in ends Gauge: 3 ST per inch; 3 rows per inch in HDC

Working in Color A, unless otherwise stated Round 1: Magic circle (see tutorial at www.planetjune.com/magicring), CH 2, 10 HDC in magic circle. Join with SL ST in first ST. CH 2. (10) Round 2: 2 HDC in base of CH 2 (i.e., HDC in the same ST that the CH2 is in). Continue with 2 HDC in each ST all around. Join with SL ST into first ST of this round. CH 2. (20) Remember to mark the beginning of the round and to move your marker as your move through each round. Round 3: 1 HDC in first ST (i.e., base of CH 2); 2 HDC in the following ST. \*(1 HDC in next ST; 2 HDC in following ST.) Repeat from \* to last ST, ending with 2 HDC in last ST. Beginning in the next round, both colours will be worked. I wove the ends in as I went along to create a cleaner finish. Round 8-11: 1 HDC in first ST (i.e., base of CH 2). 1 HDC in next 20 ST in Colour A; 1 HDC in next 6 ST in Colour B; 1 HDC in next 6 ST in Colour A; 1 HDC in next 6 ST in Colour B; 1 HDC in next 21 ST in Colour A to last ST.
