Rue's Wings Knitting Pattern: A Semi-Circular Shawl Inspired by The Hunger Games Character

A semi-circular shawl inspired by the character Rue from the Hunger Games. The ripple pattern across the main body is reminiscent of the grain of district 11. The delicate border alternates ears of wheat and blossom ending with delicate netted points.

Yarn Requirements:

:ight option: 2 Balls: Noro Sekku or 840m (920 yds) of Lace weight yar Light fingering weight option: 3 Balls Noro Taiyo Sock or 1267m (1386 yds) Light fingering weight yarn This pattern works well with self-striping and solid coloured yarns.

Notions:

:e Weight option: 3.50 mm circular needle with at least an 80 cm cable gering weight option: 4mm circular needle with at least an 80 cm cablt Stitch markers (optional - bear in mind that the increases will travel across the pattern repeats and may be more confusing than useful) Finished dimensions: Lace weight 140/ Light Fingering weight 172cm (55/68") x 69/79cm (27/31") appx.

Section 1: Set up rows

Finishing:

1) Cast off using a stretchy bind off. k2, \*pass both stitches back to left hand needle and k2 together, k1\*. Repeat from \*to\* until one stitch remains. Break yarn and fasten off. Or Jenny's surprisingly stretchy bind-off 2) Weave in all loose ends and wet block. Use the points of the leaves in the final row to assist the shaping.
