THE DETAILS THE FIT Approx 11" wide x 61" long, excluding tassels SUPPLIES Yarn: 2 hanks Superfine 400 3056 Heathered Moor Needles: Knitting needles sized to get gauge. Other stuff: Stitch holders GAUGE 51/2 sts = 1" in Stockinette Suggested needle size: US 5 (3.75 mm) Please note: Correct gauge is important but needle size is not. Change your needle size if necessary - it doesn't matter what size needle you use to get correct gauge.
HOW TO KNIT IT
MAKE TASSELS
Cast on 8 sts. Note: The double yo's are worked as 2 separate sts on the following WS row. Row 1 (RS): K2, yo, ssk, k2tog, yo, k2. Row 2 (WS): P5, k1, p2. Row 3: K2, k2tog, yo twice, ssk, k2. Row 4: P3, k1, P4. Rep Rows 1-4 forTassel pattern and work 6o more rows, ending with Ws Row 4. Break yarn and place sts on a holder. Make 3 more tassels, but do not break yarn after last tassel and keep it on the needle. Joining row (Rs): With RS facing for all tassels, join tassels beginning with Row 1of tasselpatternasfollows: Work the 8-st tassel remaining on needle in pattern, use the backward loop cast-on method to cast on 6 sts, place 8 held tassel sts on empty needle and work in pattern, use the backward loop cast-on method to cast on 12 sts, place 8 held tassel sts on empty needle and work in pattern, use the backward loop cast-on method to cast on 6 sts, place 8 held tassel sts on empty needle and work in pattern - 56 sts. Next row (WS): Work 8 tassel sts, work next 6 sts in Stockinette, work 8 tassel sts, work next 12 sts in Lace pattern beginning with Row 2 of Lace Pattern, work 8 tassel sts, work next6sts inStockinette,work8tassel sts. Continue as established in Tassel, Stockinette and Lace patterns until piece measures approx 61" from joining row, ending with WS Row 4 of Lace pattern. Next row (RS): Work 8 tassel sts, bind off 6 sts knitwise, work 8 tassel sts, bind off 12 sts knitwise, work 8 tassel sts, bind off 6 sts knitwise, work 8 tassel sts - 32 sts remaining on the needle; four 8 st-tassels. \*Next row (WS): Working one 8-st tassel at time, continue in Tassel pattern as before and work 63 more rows, ending with WS Row 4. Bind off all sts knitwise. Repeat from \* for remaining 3 tassels, joining yarn for each tassel on the WS row. Weave in ends. Wet block and dry flat.

Row 3: \*K2tog, yo twice, ssk; repeat from \* Row 4: \*P1, k1, p2; repeat from \*. Repeat rows 1-4 for Lace pattern. Stockinette: Knit on RS, purl on WS. Backward Loop Cast-on Method: \*Wrap yarn around left thumb from front to back and secure in palm with other fingers. Insert needle upwards through strand on thumb. Slip loop from thumb onto RH needle, pulling yarn to tighten. Repeat from \* for desired number of sts. approx: approximately k: knit k2tog: knit 2 sts together (1 st decreased) LH: left hand p: purl RH: right hand RS: right side ssk: (slip, slip, knit) slip 2 sts, 1 at a time, knitwise to the RH needle; insert tip of LH needle into the fronts of the two slipped sts and use RH needle to knit them together (1 st decreased) st(s): stitch(es) wS:wrong side yo: yarn over(1 st increased)
