Ch 13, starting in 2nd ch from hook A. Sc, hdc, dc, dc, htr, htr, tr, tr, hdtr, hdtr, dtr, dtr. Turn, ch 1. B. Crab stitch in front loop of each stitch. Turn, ch 1. Repeat (A & B) 4 more times. (Work succeeding A rows in unworked back loops of preceding A rows). Then A. Ch 1, working across top, (sc, ch 2) 6x around each dtr at top edge. (Ch-2 spans crab stitch ridges.) Sides are shown unfinished as this is where motif will be joined, but if this was a standalone, I would do a backward sc, sl st, or crab stitch up sides and gather or ring the bottom.
